Guest Spotlight – Trinidad Pena!
With the start of November brings yet another Spolight! This time we fall into the Spotlight and don’t want to leaf out one of our favorite members… he is one of the roots of our family tree… ok. Enough of that! Let’s meet Trinidad!
Since the beginning of underground classes occurred down the street at Roundhill Dance Studios we have had a fixture. A quiet, smiling, loyal and humble Guest has been there from the beginning. If you don’t know Trinidad, it is time to read all about him!

Fitness is important to me because:
I have always enjoyed being active but in the last few years, I have had problems connecting with any gym or trainer I would work with. It all became repetitive and boring. I had always had an interest in doing Barre and when I was told that labarre was opening a few blocks from my house I attended my first Underground class and Anthea was the first instructor to teach me. I remember thinking what did I get myself into? I left from that class so energized and proud because I lasted the whole hour at that time I knew that I found a discipline that I could enjoy and not feel like going to workout was a chore. I believe that you have to connect and enjoy whatever form of "fitness" or "workout" that one decides to do. You need to enjoy being active and leading a healthy lifestyle.
My fitness goals are…
To be healthy and feel great in my body, mind, and spirit. I have used Barre as a therapeutic outlet for myself where I can let go of the everyday things of my life and have one hour where I can just focus on myself.
One thing I learned about myself in the past 6 months is…
I am stronger than I know and being patient with myself as well as not being hard on myself over things I can't control.

The most important thing to me is..
My husband and our family. Also, being the best spouse, son, uncle, brother, friend, and human being I can be while I am on this earth. I want to have compassion, empathy, and be my authentic self.
The thing I am most proud of is…
How much I have noticed the change in my body as well as my mental focus. One thing that I am very proud of is all the instructors and members at labarre that have inspired me to push myself in this practice that I didn't know that I could even achieve when I joined in April. I felt a really strong connection to Barre when I joined and knew that I have found my fitness path and joining labarre was one of the best decisions I made for myself.
