This Is Where Presence Lives
labarre is more than a studio. It's a sanctuary for people who feel stuck in their heads and are ready to come home to their bodies.
labarre's Beginnings
labarre was founded by Lisa Alberino in 2017 as a space where movement and community could flourish. What began as a boutique barre studio became a beloved gathering place for people seeking something more than just a workout.
In 2024, Julie Saccento took ownership with a vision to deepen what labarre could become: a music-driven sanctuary specifically designed for people living on autopilot—capable, thoughtful people moving through their days disconnected, efficient but not intentional, busy but not present.
THIS IS LABARRE TODAY: A PLACE WHERE MUSIC LEADS, KINDNESS GUIDES, AND PRESENCE IS PRACTICED.

Meet Julie Saccento, Owner
Julie's connection to labarre began in 2017, when she walked into her first class during a dark chapter of life. After an unexpected loss, she was managing everyone else's grief while barely surviving her own. Exercise was the last thing on her list—but labarre kept showing up.
What started as an hour to forget became something more: a space where she could feel her own strength, clarity, and calm again. labarre became her happy place for the next seven years; first as a member, and later as an instructor teaching through the uncertainty of COVID.
When founder Lisa Alberino made the brave decision to sell the studio, Julie knew she wanted to be the one to carry it forward. Not to start from scratch, but to honor what Lisa built while evolving it into what she wished she'd had during those dark months: a true sanctuary that nurtures mind, body, and spirit.
Under Julie's ownership, she's reimagined the class structure (Balance, Bold, Breathe), refined the coaching to lead with kindness, and designed every detail to help people drop out of their heads and into their bodies.

Meet the Équipe
Every labarre instructor is more than a teacher—they're a guide. Each one has been carefully selected and trained not just in movement mechanics, but in how to hold space, read a room, and meet people exactly where they are.
Our instructors lead with clarity and kindness. They celebrate honest effort and create an environment where you can relax into the experience. You'll notice the difference the moment class begins.

A Historic Home for Modern Wellness
Our studio lives in a beautifully restored 1927 Spanish Colonial Revival building with a story worth telling.
Built as the Bank of Italy, this building served the community through the 1950s before transforming into a real estate office, a café, and eventually a hair salon. In 2017, it was lovingly renovated to become the home of labarre studios.
Step inside and you'll immediately notice the 48-foot mural by acclaimed artist David Choe. Known for his iconic work with Facebook (his early murals at their headquarters became legendary), Vice Media, and street art installations worldwide, Choe created this vibrant piece years ago.
When Lisa Alberino discovered it hidden beneath layers of white paint, she knew it had to be restored. The painstaking work brought the mural back to life, and now it serves as both a visual anchor and a daily reminder: beauty can be covered up, but it's always there, waiting to be uncovered. Just like the wisdom of the body.
The original bank vault remains intact and now serves as the private treatment space for our esthetician, Mercedes. It's a functional piece of history that guests love discovering—and a perfect metaphor for what we do: taking something from the past and reimagining it for healing in the present.
This is where history meets healing. Where art meets intention. Where you come home.
What We Believe
The Body Is the Home of Truth
While the mind is full of thoughts, the body holds wisdom. We help people return to their bodies—because that's where clarity, intuition, and heart live.
Presence Is a Practice
Presence doesn't happen by accident. With music, movement, and thoughtful design, we help people practice showing up for themselves.
Music Is More Than Motivation
When movement matches rhythm, the brain gets to rest and the body takes the lead. That shift makes presence easier and belonging something you can feel in your bones.
Kindness Is Strength
Challenge doesn't have to be harsh. We coach with clarity, not volume. Smart choices are celebrated. Options are power.
Every Body Deserves to Belong
Belonging is offered at the door, not earned through performance. We create spaces where people feel seen, supported, and free to move honestly.

We Rise by Lifting Others
Community isn't just something we talk about—it's something we practice.
Through labarre Gives Back, we partner with local organizations like Front Door Communities to support vulnerable members of our community. We collect clothing, create hygiene kits, and look for ways to extend our values of care and belonging beyond our studio walls.
We also host free outdoor classes, workshops, sound meditations, educational sessions, and community events that go deeper than movement—because wellness isn't just about the body, it's about connection, learning, and growing together.

Got questions? Let us help!
Can I arrive late to class or leave early?
In order to ensure that you get the best work out and other guests have a positive experience, we do not allow arrivals beyond 5 minutes into class time. We suggest that all guests arrive 5 minutes before class in order to settle in, gather props, and be ready for class to start. We do ask that you plan to stay the entire class.
What should I bring with me?
We do recommend grip socks for most of our classes, with the exception of yoga-based classes. We have socks available for purchase if you need a pair! We also recommend that you bring along a water bottle - we have a filling station at the studio.
What happens if I cancel or do not attend a class?
A $15 charge per late cancel will be incurred for cancellations less than 4-hours prior to class time. The fee for no-shows is $25. Members will not be charged for virtual class cancellations or no-shows. Guests on a limited class pack will lose a class for all no-shows or late cancellations.
How do I pause, change, or cancel my membership?
Changes to your membership may be made through your Walla dashboard. If you wish to pause your membership, we request that you complete the memberhip change form linked in the footer of our website.
May I get a refund on my membership payment?
No, we do not offer refunds on membership payments. We have a very flexible cancellation policy and we do not hold members to long term contracts.
