7/10/2017 2 Comments The Time Has Come! After nearly eight months of planning, working, demolition and construction, I am glad to announce that the doors to the new labarre studios are now open! I can’t even believe that I am writing this… but the doors are open and we are ready to start our next chapter in what we hope to be an amazing book containing some of the greatest fitness-journey stories, weight-loss novellas and fun-filled non-fiction tomes ever created! My goal was to get these doors open without cutting corners or skimping on a single element. The home of labarre studios, which is a dream realized for me, was to be as close to perfect as I could make it… and will always be a work in progress. One thing that has to be understood is that this dream could and would never be realized without the incredible support system that I have been blessed with as the studios inched closer to completion. This blog will identify those who have helped across so many fronts… I know someone will be left out and so I humbly apologize… but please don’t be afraid to add your own awards below! It takes a village to raise a studio… so here we go. The “Hammer and Nail “ Award goes to: D and G Construction. Don Welsch and Greg Jack’s crew toiled, fought, hammered and worked their tails off to make the building what it is. Thanks D and G! The “Aspen, California, Beautiful “Award goes to: Michele Gray Without Michele, this building never gets a chance to be built out. Here’s to an incredible business on your home turf! (PS – If you don’t know the reference, click here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKLI8j_hbgY) The “Marathon Under Grounder” Award goes to: Melissa Rosa There have been incredible women and men who have come to MANY MANY classes – but Melissa got to 100 classes faster than anyone and that calls for an award in our book! The “Keep My Business Straight” Award goes to: Olga Naugle She is simply the woman behind the numbers. The “Tons of Class” Award goes to: Jen Horne Jenn enjoys our classes and instructors so much that she simply can’t get enough. Jenn has been known to attend a morning class then come back for an afternoon class the same day! The “Design Ninja” Award goes to: Ben Rocha Ben has helped and continues to help to create classic design work for the studio. He has been invaluable as we launched our opening. The "Nobody Puts Baby in the Corner” Award goes to: Linda Dattilo Linda is on the heels of Melissa Rosa approaching 100 classes quickly. The only difference from these two founding members is that Linda has her own spot at labarre. She has done nearly 100 classes at the same station. Linda we will need to find a your new favorite spot at labarre studios stat! Again, reference link for those unsure https://youtu.be/28A9Jgo92GQ The “Entourage” Award goes to: Sara Rosa Like Vincent Chase, Sara has a following like no other and they have all come to labarre with her… thanks Sara! The “Sexy Mama” Award goes to: Michelle Bui Simply put, Michelle has shed 60+ pounds since working with labarre studios. That gets a standing ovation with the award as well! The “San Jose Smithsonian” Award goes to: Rick Bernard Talk about being a history buff – Rick, a local blogger for #OnTheAlameda has been so key in labarre studios assuring that The Alameda and its history is prominent in the studios renovation that a wall is dedicated to the historic street. All research thanks to our man, Rick! The “You’ve Been Framed Award” goes to Four Winds Custom Framing owner, Jenny Chapman The generosity, time and hands-on help that Jenny has given to labarre studios is overwhelming! Thanks Jenny! The “Musical Mac-Daddy” Award goes to Aron Kennedy Aron has been a member of my husband’s work family and a great friend to us for nearly 2 decades. The sound system that we will rock out to every day at labarre is all thanks to our guy, AK! The “Wood knot be able to do it without him” Award goes to Jason Rose The gorgeous benches, cabinets and incredible front desk was built by hand, with love, from carpenter extraordinaire, Jason. Bravo. The “Social Butterfly Award” goes to Meg Ryan Yes, THE Meg Ryan – who is the 49ers Social Media Guru helped us to philosophically put together our social strategy – She’s so Tweet, isn’t she? The “Stinking Cute Award” goes to our mascots, Stella, Deyessa and Paige If you see three future supermodels sitting and hanging out with the mommies, that’s our patient mascots who came to more classes than you can possibly imagine. The “Little Drummer Boyz Award / Bench Warmer Awards” goes to the cuties known as Landon, Carson, Gabriel. These lovely boys also spent a TON of time in classes and at times, drummed away with the rest of us! Lastly I have to hand Honorable Mentions to every one of my labarre guests and instructors who have been a part of labarre studios. Again, I know I’m forgetting someone so apologies, but know that you are all dear to my heart as we start this journey off!!
Happy Days! - Lisa Alberino, Founder
