Meet Our Massage Therapist!

Massage Therapist, Macaylan McNeill’s story begins at the tender age of 5 when she recalls receiving a book on the human body for children.  At that point, she gleams, “I was hooked!”  As a youngster, this book was an epiphany which led to Macaylan excelling at science and anatomy throughout her schooling and inevitably, a passion was lit that would be the beacon for a rewarding career. Born in Augusta Georgia, one of our newest equipe members has had a lifetime journey that took her right to our front

Early on, Macaylan was a stay at home mom as her husband, Austin, proudly serves in the United States Navy as a nuclear electricians’ mate.  She and Austin have 2 gorgeous sons, Kashton (4) and Chance (2) and as they grew, so did Macaylan’s desire to reimagine her dream.

Enrolling in the National Holistic Institute in San Jose, Macaylan was entirely sold on the curriculum and completed the 900-hour program. “I ended up at labarre by chance as my externship was at TrioSpa and I fell in love with the studios at 1445 The Alameda,” Macaylan shares. “I ended up reaching out to owner and founder, Lisa Alberino, and we struck up a great relationship.  That’s where it all began and I am very excited to get started at the beautiful space.”

Drawn to massage therapy to combine the love of science with her love for wellness and simply helping people, Macaylan has jumped in with an enthusiasm and desire that warms our hearts.

Her eagerness spawns not only as a culmination of her journey, but also as a true believer in what she is doing.  As a recipient of massage therapy, she knows first-hand the importance and healing effects from massage therapy.  From prenatal to Swedish massage, all of the modalities have done something special for her.  As an expectant mother Macaylan notes “It was the only thing that alleviated the pregnancy pains and allowed me to sleep in the final trimester.”
This information compels her to assure guests and clients that she is an expert in her craft. One reason she is such a terrific therapist: “I listen to my clients.” “That’s the most important thing.  If that client comes in with a specific body ache or may just want to relax, I will suggest therapy based on what they are telling me. Let’s say they just want to relax, I am going to offer a Swedish massage and maybe some

aromatherapy using some lavender, which is an essential oil.  I want them to pick their music as I want them to be able to escape.  I am a mom and I understand how important it is to get that hour or so to escape.

I also have experience with a lot of different clients, body types and personalities and that suits me to understand so many different needs.  I want to adhere to everything the client needs.”

The studios were a perfect fit for Macaylan and she was a perfect fit for labarre!

“Everything is so well decorated and put together… it’s the cutest place I’ve ever seen in my life.  I just love it. I show pictures to my friends all the time and they tell me they want to come!  I also like the sense of community.  The way the staff members interact with each other and the guests as well.  Labarre feels like a big team and everyone supports one another and are pushing for the same goals.  The sense of community is really there.”

We want to open our arms and hearts to Macaylan and her family and we also want to introduce you to her!  Click here to learn more about her services.

We’d also like to thank Austin for his service to this great country and want to remind all guests that we have special rates for those who served and currently serve proudly.

Welcome to the fam, Macaylan!!

Last night I felt I had too much to drink. I have been very quick to forget what even just a small amount of alcohol can do to me. My view in life can totally change in seconds and the bad feeling that follows usually stays for weeks or even months. I don't really blame it on alcohol, in fact I was in denial for the longest time. But everytime someone explains to me in details who this is happening, I am reminded that I should be convinced that alcohol maybe the only reason why all my happy hormones have gone on a permanent vacation.
